Photograph album collected by Merv Johnson, author of "In Search of Steam Donkeys: Logging Equipment in Oregon." The images date from 1917-1922 and depict logging equipment such as boilers and steam donkey engines at various lumber camps and lumber companies in the Pacific Northwest . Companies depicted include Bloedel, Stewart, and Welch Logging Operations and British Columbia Mills, Timber, and Trading Company in British Columbia; Snoqualmie Falls Lumber Company in Washington; Smith-Powers Logging Company, and Wind River Lumber Company in Oregon, among others. There are also some photographs of a scotch boiler belonging to the Emergency Fleet Corporation being loaded on to the ship, "Grace Dollar." Photographers include George M. Weister of Portland, Or., and Cress-Dale Photo Company and Frank H. Nowell, both of Seattle, Wash.
